This is a tough one to answer, because I’ve never taken classes or learnt under anyone… I’m not entirely sure where to start!

I’d always been interested in typography before I knew it was an actual thing. I really admired my sister’s work growing up, but I wasn’t the best at any font in particular except not-always-accurate cursive. I guess it was the appreciation that helped out in sharpening my skill - well-designed magazines, websites, Photoshop as a thirteen-year-old. Now, it’s Tumblr of course. A lot of Tumblr!

It takes time, that’s for sure. Time, patience when your work sucks without a doubt, and also knowing what works and what doesn’t work (especially when one doesn’t have someone else to tell them).
