Day 92. From Monsters Of Men:

Day 92. From Monsters Of Men:

And my Noise and my heart and my head fill up fit to burst, fill up like I’m gonna explode -

Cuz she’s saying -

She’s saying with her eyes and her face and her entire self -

"I know,“ I say back to her, my voice husky. "Me too.”

THIS PART. THIS PART.

Some side notes:

I did the art with Paper and the words with Procreate, so today’s art isn’t fully Paper.

This might be the end of my Chaos Walking spamming art for now. Tomorrow’ll probably be typography quotes from the book.

Day 90.

Day 90.

“Have you forgotten who we are?” She reaches into a pocket of her long healer’s skirt, still worn even though trousers are so much more practical. She pulls out something and tosses it to me. I catch it without even thinking.

“Why don’t you do the honours?” she says.

I look in my hand. It’s a crumbling piece of blue charcoal, pulled from our wood fires, the remains of the reacher trees we burn to keep warm. It smears dusty blue across my skin.

A library is a good place to go when you feel unhappy, for there, in a book, you may find encouragement and comfort. A library is a good place to go when you feel bewildered or undecided, for there, in a book, you may have your question answered. Books are good company, in sad times and happy times, for books are people - people who have managed to stay alive by hiding between the covers of a book.

(I am currently reading the Chaos Walking trilogy, and damn it, what is it with trying to make your readers cry?!?! Already burst into violent tears at one point of The Knife Of Never Letting Go, and there promises to be more heartbreak before Monsters Of Men is over. Yep, that’s me you hear whimpering in protest.)

Day 4. The Magician’s Nephew by C.S. Lewis
Just one today, as the horse was a little time-consuming. This book has been with me since I was maybe four or five, and you can see how creased (and how loved!) it is. I really grew up with Narnia, and The Magician’s Nephew counts as a huge favourite of mine in the series. I’m hoping I can start re-reading this next week and follow it up with either the next book or The Lord Of The Rings.
