hi, i firstly gotta say your blog is amazing! second, are you dutch(, because i am too)? just wondering because of your url haha. have a nice day :)x

Thank you so much, that’s really kind of you to say! And unfortunately, I am not Dutch. Kinda envious that you are, though! (Does that sound creepy?) I’m actually thinking about a url/name change due to all the confusion… but the downside is that you lovely Dutch people probably wouldn’t contact me anymore, haha. Ah well.

Hi :3 I saw your little "one step at a time" drawing and I wanted to know if I could tattoo it on me ? Thank you !

Sure thing! Also – for all people considering my art as a tattoo, it’d be great if you maybe bought me a coffee? I don’t ask for any other kind of payment and any token of appreciation, no matter how small, goes a long way to helping a poor student out [:

PS: I’d really love to see pics when you’ve gotten it done!

Ohhhh thank you so much, that is so lovely of you to say! ♥ And no problem, save as much as you like C:
How’d I get into drawing? This’ll take a while to answer, because drawing was always part of my life. Let me see…

My mum is an artist, and a lot of my childhood was spent in the backyard with her cutting apples and oranges in half so we could paint on the insides and use them to print patterns, or we’d put leaves under paper and rub crayons over to capture their veins. Other times, I’d wander around on my own in long grass and catch butterflies with my fingers. I was also an avid reader — I used to hide behind the curtains in the early mornings with illustrated Shakespeare works, fairytales about tragically twisted Russian ballerinas (disturbing, now that I’m looking back on it) and whichever Narnia book I was reading at the time (I’m pretty sure Pauline Baynes is my main artistic inspiration even now). And out of that came a deep love for intricate beauty, nature, and sadness, along with the constant need to express these things and hopefully combine them. Yeah, I think that sums it up, pretty much. ^-^

This was such a lovely message to answer, thanks for letting me reminisce a little! I hope you’re having a great day wherever you are
