Illustrated – 6/∞ – Untitled (Grasses Grow) by A Fine Frenzy
500th post. I’m pretty proud of how far this blog’s come.

Catharsis in the form of recovery art.
Illustrated (music and books and things) – 4/∞ – Lost Stars (Begin Again soundtrack)
The movie was slightly underwhelming, but the lyrics to this song (and Keira Knightley’s original version) are really lovely.
Also, hello. It’s been awhile.
Illustrated (books and things) – 3/∞ – If I Stay & Where She Went by Gayle Forman
I recently read this beautiful duology and had to do art for it because I couldn’t get the imagery out of my head. The scenes above hint directly at each book’s title while also depicting the first things that come to mind when I think of each story.
If I Stay looks out of shards of broken glass into a scene that’s pivotal, both pristine white and grisly (imagine Beethoven’s Cello Sonata no. 3 still playing out of the ruined car’s speakers). Where She Went shows the cover of Shuffle magazine, which claims to have all the details on Adam’s past connection with Mia, being ripped away to show the reality: Adam himself outside Carnegie Hall, just as confused about where Mia went as anyone else. Just a nice bit of irony I couldn’t help adding.
